Fast rising Enugu born and bred musician,
Okwor Oluchuwku Morrison, aka ‘Morris’ is
about to change the face of music in Nigeria
with his unique style of music which has since
been the talk of the town in the east where he is
currently based.
After the successful release of his previous
single titled ‘Africa Baby’ which portrays the
beauty of African women, he is set to release a
new self-titled single ‘Oluchukwu’. According to
Morris, the song tells the story of a little boy
destined for greatness inspite of the hurdles he
must grapple with on his way to success.
“This music, as it stands for in Igbo means
‘Work of God’. It tells the tale of a boy who is
destined for greatness despite challenges and
obstacles”, he said.
Speaking further, Morris who is currently signed
to Jehty Incorporated Record Label explained
why he named the song after himself.
He said; “Naming the song ‘Oluchuwku’, which
is my real name, wasn’t something that took
much thinking because as the name implies,
‘Work of God’, already passes the message. My
life and journey so far has been all because of
God and I couldn’t help but sing to that.”
Morris who strongly believes he is an act to
look out for in a competitive music industry like
Nigeria’s said ‘Oluchukwu’ was inspired by his
challenging journeys of life.
“Oluchukwu was inspired by my life’s journey
so far from the time I lost a dear one to the
struggles in secondary school. Also, now that
I’m in the higher institution, certain encounters I
have had with friends and family inspired it too.
Some were good times, some were bad times
but in all things I give God the glory, he said.
