Former member, Lagos State House of
Assembly, Mrs. Risikat Ajoke Adegeye, has
urged the Federal government to propose a trust
fund for the widows and old people throughout
the federation to assist them in living a good life
    and ameliorate their plight .
The House of Representatives aspirant for the
    2019 Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency,
stated that she will also propose the Trust Fund
at the Federal House, which will bring succor to
millions of families who will also save money
due to the upkeep of their older relations by the
    federal government.
According to her: “ In the House of
Representatives , I will propose a trust fund for
the old people’s homes. This fund will have
several positive impact in the lives of our old
men and women in Nigeria and this will also
have a multiplier effect on the citizens who will
also save a lot of money when their aged
relatives are already being taken care of by the
    federal government.
“I will continue to embark on philanthropy in
Amuwo Odifin adding that the state in the last
five years has been witnessing tremendous turn
around especially in the lives of the poor, the
    widows and orphans.
“As a lawmaker in the Lagos State House of
Assembly, I sponsored people to university,
empowered lots of youths, so it’s important for
me to give attention to the elderly people. It is
very worrisome that despite the high level of
economic hardship in our country, our
legislators find it difficult to establish
Endowment Trust Funds and attract projects to
    support the elderly people.”
    Adegeye therefore urged Lagosians especially
residents of Amuwo Odofin to get their
Permanent Voter card, PVC, adding that the PVC
    is their symbol of hope.
