….As Danbatta delivers anniversary lecture
Ahead of his company’s 10-year anniversary, Publisher of
Business Journal, Mr Prince Cookey has said that Nigeria may
not achieve remarkable economic growth if it continues foot-
dragging on sustainable infrastructure investment.
Cookey was speaking while announcing that the Nigerian
Communications Commission, NCC Executive Vice Chairman,
Prof Umar Danbatta has agreed to deliver the anniversary lecture
with the theme: Infrastructure &Economic growth: Exploring the
strategic alliance.
The event slated for June 7, 2018 at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja,
Lagos, would have former NCC EVC, Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, as
Chairman.
Cookey said: “Our decision to situate the theme on the
relationship between infrastructure and economic growth is to
send a clear message to key stakeholders in the Nigeria Project
that our nation cannot achieve sustainable economic growth
without sustainable investment in infrastructure. We need
infrastructure to grow the economy and move our society
forward.”
Others to speak at the event, include Professor Akpan Ekpo,
Director-General, West African Institute for Financial &
Economic Management (WAIFEM); Mr. Tope Smart, Group
Managing Director/CEO, NEM Insurance Plc ; Dr. Obadiah
Mailafia, Former Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
and Engr. Chidi Izuwah, Director-General, Infrastructure
Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
