    A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party
    (PDP) in Warri South Local Government Area Mr.
    Augustine Uroye has commended Governor
    Ifeanyi Okowa for the test run of facilities at the
    Stephen Keshi Stadium, in preparation of the
    African Senior Athletics Championship, noting
    that Asaba is a peaceful place with a unique
    cultural heritage.
    Uroye, who is vying for Warri South
    Constituency 1 seat in the Delta State House of
    Assembly in an interview with newsmen
    yesterday in Warri assured athletes and officials
    from 54 African countries that the event would
    continue to be acknowledged in the annals of
    history as the most successful in the series of
    the championship.

    Athletics Championship Game in Asaba,
    Delta State.
    The House Assembly hopeful reiterated the
    hospitable nature of deltans and enjoined the
    visitors to take advantage of the tourism
    potentials of the state.
    While urging deltans and lovers of sports to
    come out en-mass to give support to the
    athletes and make the event a memorable one.
